Our Vision

We are a large group of dedicated, caring, and hardworking individuals committed to the welfare of cats and people in our community.

A Dedicated Team of Volunteers

Our team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly every day to rehabilitate and find forever homes for every cat and kitten we take in. Our adoption center adheres to the Association of Shelter Veterinarians’ Guidelines for Standards of Care that were established in 2010 and recently updated in 2022.

Our Mission

Our organization is dedicated to providing vital services to felines and their human companions throughout the Willamette Valley.

Our Story

Friends of Felines began in 2004 with a handful of local, animal-loving volunteers who saw a heartbreaking problem: too many cats in need, and not enough support to help them. With few community resources for rescue, spay/neuter, or adoption, they decided to take action—focusing on reducing feline overpopulation and providing a better future for cats in the Salem area.
From the start, our work has been rooted in compassion, education, and community. We knew that lasting change meant not only helping cats but also empowering the people who care for them.

What began with just a few foster homes, with no brick and mortar building, has grown into a bustling operation that is a regional leader in feline welfare. In February 2021, we moved into our permanent home in Keizer, Oregon— a 5,000 square foot facility that allows us to care for more cats and offer more services than ever before.

Our facility includes the following on-site amenities:

And our newest additions, starting in August 2025:
